When I think about this elopement, I think about young love and doing exactly what you want for your wedding day. Cristina and Jonathan decided to keep their Boston City Hall elopement as just the two of them, which I loved. It was an intimate ceremony where they exchanged silicon rings in place of traditional rings, and I'll admit, when they teared up, so did I! Later, the two headed off to a steakhouse for a private dinner to bask in the glow of being newlyweds. Every step of the way, it felt like it was all about them and their vision for their wedding day. As it should be!
When we first chatted, they shared that they wanted the day and their photos to feel cinematic, dreamy, and representative of their time in Boston. They wanted that classic Boston feel and Spring vibes, which is how we landed on a few classic shots in front of the Boston City Hall building, before jetting off on the T for those garden shots. The subway was its own photoshoot and produced some of the most gorgeous photos. I directed the two of them a little, but mostly, I just let them be. Such is being a documentary-style photographer. By simply observing and capturing them in that post-wedding glow, we captured some gorgeous shots that feel very much like them.
Throughout the afternoon, I tried to tell the story of their day through our photos. Once in the park, it was about capturing them lying in the grass, walking hand in hand, playing, laughing, dancing, as well as a few editorial shots and of course, the classic veil shots! To cap off the day, we headed over to Beacon Hill in search of Pinterest-worthy portraits on Acorn Street, where the two danced on the cobblestone streets before ending on an epic dip. (Scroll down to see what I mean!)
